Dreams do come true after all.

Thank God I have her’ cause I really felt the difference after she left. Then I reaffirm that she is special to me after all.

It made me think… did I give my Mum enough love, care and concern back when she’s sick? A whole bunch of regretful thoughts gush into my head. Now it’s too late to change things. I hope I don’t make the same mistake towards my other loved ones.

I’ll cherish everyone. ’cause life is way too unpredictable to follow according to plan.

At first it looks so tak happening ah ’cause B1 was so Bugis Street-like and as we go up the levels the shops are either not opened or simply just so blah. Not worth the my prevous double-look at least. But as the we go higher – it seemed like a HDB flat – the options varies quite nicely.

First (good) shocker came when I saw Quiznos, a Subway substitute that I’ve been wanting to try for ages. There’s also Spinelli, a preference of mine overrated Starbucks and Coffee Bean. Pity it doesn’t have al fresco. A while later I saw Fruit Paradise and their beautifully crafted fruit tarts on display.

BUT I read that their tarts are cream-laden and ironically lacking of substantial amount of fruits despite looking so generously topped. One has to run a full marathon in order to burn off those cream and that certainly made me think twice before gorging those beauties down.

Babe is very clever now. She knows how to counter me using MY own words and I fall for her trap a few times today. But it all ended up in friendly banter, laughter and spastic moments and I’m even more grateful for having her now.

Then came Raiyan’s birthday party over at his house. Damn his mum is a good cook! I wish I could have eaten more but I’m kinda watching my diet. If not for it, I would have whacked all the briyani and chicken up. There’s even this murtabak-like dish that has softened cream crackers inside filled with minced beef. Power man!

Such a joyous birthday occasion as the birthday boy was out of our squad but fret not ’cause he’ll forever be close to us! He’s a great friend to have and my only regret is that we can’t spend time together as much as yesterdays. Plus he’ll ORD earlier than me! But I believe things happen for a reason.

He was tearful and all as he gave a speech and played videos of our training time together back when we’re still in the basic training course. Wonderful memories we had back then.:)

As I approached my second year of  my NS life, I’m trying to see it in a different light. On the surface, it’s really like my poly years. The cliques, the politics, the trainings and “exams” that we have to undergo. Plus the mixture of everyday life of slacking and early mornings, and another whole round of SAF DAY Parade, NDP, AHM and fasting and Hari Raya to go before I ORD.

If I were to count by months, every month will be eventful. But breaking it down by the weeks and worst, days, makes the whole process even longer. But I will get there.

I didn’t even know it’s gonna happen this week! Is it the fasting month that has been occupying me? Or do I just have loads of things on my mind? I see some familiar names in the lineups but seriously sometimes it’s the underdogs that will steal the limelight.

There will be rowdy teenagers no doubt who’ll see this as an opportunity to dress up and impress (idk who) so I expect them to throng the Esplanade area.

I’m more interested in a mini flea market happening in front of Makansutra though and maybe this year’s lanyard. Kudos to the web design team of this year’s Baybeats. I love the layout and navigation of the whole site. Nice!
